Simms A No-Show At First Day of Bucs Mini-Camp
Posted By D.A. Louis  June 18, 2008
The Tampa Tribune Reports:
QB Chris Simms, who put his chances of attending the mini-camp at "50-50'' is not here. We're not really
surprised. Simms really wants to be moved off this team and this is just further proof.

This absence, though, will cost Simms. He stands to be fined $8,000 a day for missing the workouts this
week, which run through Thursday. If he skips training camp, he faces a fine of $14,000 per day.

Don't look for that to happen, though. If Simms is still a Bucs come late July, he'll be at camp. That's what he
said two weeks ago when he last talked to us and Simms has always been a man of his word.
Graham Gets Back To Work With Bucs
Posted By D.A. Louis  June 18, 2008
The Tampa Tribune Reports:
Earnest Graham kept his word. The Bucs running back told the Tribune on Saturday that he would end his
holdout from offseason workouts this week, and there he was Tuesday, running alongside Warrick Dunn for
the first time and catching dump-offs from Jeff Garcia at the team's minicamp.
Bucs want $7 million from Plummer
Posted by D.A Louis  June 5, 2008
Denver Post Reports:
In Peyton Hillis, the Broncos got all the compensation they wanted for former quarterback Jake Plummer.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are another story. They want approximately $7 million in bonuses from
Plummer in exchange for his retirement. Two NFL sources said the Bucs' grievance hearing against
Plummer will commence in about two weeks.

Although the Broncos have officially joined the grievance, they are listed only to help eliminate any potential
confusion — the bonus in dispute was derived from the restructured contract the Broncos gave Plummer
in March 2005. But the only Bucs are seeking money from Plummer. The Broncos are not, having traded
Plummer's contractual rights on March 3, 2007, in exchange for Tampa Bay's seventh-round draft
selection in 2008.
Bucs sign fullback Askew to four-year contract extension
Posted by D.A. Louis  May 16, 2008
ST. Petersburg Times Reports:
Fullback B.J. Askew, who provided a major boost for the running game after joining the Bucs in 2007,
signed a four-year contract extension, according to agent Scott Smith of XAM Sports.

Askew, who was entering the final season of a two-year contract, is signed through 2012. The deal is
believed to be worth more than $8-million and include a signing bonus of $2-million.

Askew, 27, had no carries last season but was a stout lead blocker credited by coaches with making a
difference in the running game. He caught 18 passes for 175 yards.
